Why did Klimas Wkręt-met publish “Fairy Tales that Didn’t Exist”?

Is it possible to unite kindergarten teachers, a leader in the production of construction fasteners and the desire to do good through literature? It turns out that as much as possible. The result of an unconventional project of the Klimas Wkręt-met brand, associated with Częstochowa, and the Municipal Kindergarten in Starcza has just been published: a book for children. This is a unique book – it will go wherever little patients are fighting for their health and fitness, to give them encouragement and let them be a child again.

Fairy Tales That Didn’t Exist” is brand new, having been printed in mid-January, and is the result of an unusual fusion of education, business, and a desire to do good. The book is not for sale because the purpose of its creation is not commercial. Published by the Klimas Wkrew-met brand, it will go to places where children and their relatives often lack reasons for joy: children’s wards of hospitals and clinics, rehabilitation facilities, associations and foundations working with children. Little patients in a daily routine, subjected to dozens of treatments or therapies, often grow up too fast. Such a bookish return to the land of fantasy, where their peers take them, is a moment of respite and an opportunity for a sincere child’s smile.

Fairy Tales That Didn’t Exist” is no ordinary book: the three stories it contains were actually created by the children of the Municipal Kindergarten in Starcza. They were given only the beginning of each story, and how the plot unfolded depended on them and their supportive teachers and parents, who helped the little ones formulate their thoughts and put them into words. What’s more, each little author illustrated his or her part of the story, making it beautiful, varied, and true to life

By children and for children

The project was started a few years ago by Joanna Zając, the director of the Starcza institution. Every year, with the help of Klimas Wkrew-met, she tries to publish a story written by children who finish their educational adventure with kindergarten and move on. These booklets have been a wonderful memory for them and their families, but understandably they have not been widely distributed.

And that’s a shame,” says Joanna Klimas-Leśniak, advisor to the board of Klimas Wkręt-met. – These are beautiful stories that touch and surprise us adults with their sensitivity and wisdom. – We have been cooperating with the Municipal Kindergarten in Starcha for several years now, and the project of creating a book written and illustrated by kindergarten children immediately touched our hearts. When we supported the publication of the third story, we had the idea to bring these stories to the world. They deserve to fill many more bookshelves, especially in places where they can bring a smile and restore hope. Or at least make you forget your troubles for a while,” he adds.

Pity them in a drawer

Fairy Tales That Didn’t Exist” turned out to be a rather large publication of almost 140 pages. In hardcover, which, according to the initiators of the project, was important from the point of view of durability. The book will go to places where it will probably pass through the hands of hundreds of children. So it has to be durable to last as long as possible. The challenge was not only to produce such a publication, but also all the editorial work that has been going on since August. Because the book is decorated with children’s drawings, it was not possible to manipulate them as much as with graphics or paintings done by professionals. Soon, 1,000 copies of the book will be distributed to institutions throughout the country that treat and rehabilitate the youngest.
